Erik Comas dominates the first leg
"Whoever had, he retained". With this
Spanish proverb could perfectly sum up the
performance of the French team formed by
former Formula 1 racer Erik Comas and co-driver
Yannik Roche (Lancia Stratos HF) which have
been the fastest in the four sections held
during the afternoon.
Morning, the city of Oviedo was the star of
the checks and the ceremonial start, with
the scenarios Square Porlier and the
Cathedral of Oviedo, giving way late to the
council of Pravia, especially its roads, for
holding four special that would make up the
first of two stages of the rally.
French Erick Comas will go to sleep as
leader of the 8th Historic Rally Asturias
after winning scratch in four tranches

national competition section of the Pre-81
As for the Regularity, the general
classification of FIA Trophy is led by Josep
Maria Molas and Laura Pedrosa (Renault
Alpine A110) with 23.0 points, reducing the
Luxembourg rider Christian Crucifix (Ford
Cortina GT) by 3.5 points. Within the
National, rankings are led by Victor
Iglesias (RS Pre-81) (VW Golf GTI), Oscar
Menendez (RS Pre-90) (VW Golf GTI), Josep
Maria Mola (50 km / h). While the Asturias
Championship Sport Regularity is led by
Javier Cabanas (Peugeot 205 Rallye) and the
regional competition of 50 km/h by Gustavo
Alija (911 T).
The second stage will begin at 8:30 pm,
departure time of the first participant path
located in Peñaullan assistance. The teams
will face three loops of three sections each,
to reach the figure of thirteen special
stages that make up the eighth edition of
the Rally de Asturias Histórico. Champagne
ceremony will be held at 20:00 pm in the
Parque Sabino Moutas of Pravia.
